Property & Business Improvement District
The purpose of the PBID #3 is to fund the cost of maintaining the public streetscape within the District. The public streetscape was completely rebuilt in 199X(to be confirmed) by the City of Turlock using (primarily) Redevelopment funds. The District is defined as Main Street from Palm to Lander, extending ½ block along cross streets within the District. You can tell you are within the District if you are walking upon pavers that look like cobblestone.
The property owners formed this district to tax themselves to pay for the on-going maintenance required for the sidewalks, pedestrian alleys, city-owned parking lots, trees, and, landscaping. In addition, the PBID funds miscellaneous administrative costs, special events and promotion, and, advocacy for downtown.
